Yadav, who is also the State Congress chief, said the fundamental reason for controversy over raising of dam height stemmed from the fact that the affected families had not been properly rehabilitated so far.

He accused the State BJP Government of having ignored the rehabilitation work of dam oustees. He further said a committee was formed for rehabilitation of displaced families but still there had been massive corruption in rehabilitation works.

Referring to alleged corruption in rehabilitation of Indira Sagar Project oustees from Harsud to Chhanera, he said after the Congress took up the issue, corruption in rehabilitation works was exposed and oustees got a better deal.

Meanwhile, Jan Sangharsh Morcha, a conglomerate of 15 NGOs from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, today condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress for their insensitivity towards rehabilitation of Sardar Sarovar Dam oustees.
