Cong to launch Jan Vishwas Abhiyan on February 14
THE CONGRESS plans to launch a Jan Vishwas Abhiyan on February 14 to regain lost ground in eastern Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the State. Congress activists will take out a padyatra for an interaction with people. Eight teams have been constituted for various districts. The yatra will conclude on February 24.

All India Congress Committee member and padyatra coordinator Dr Syed Jamal said former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot would flag off the yatra from Allahabad on February 14.
He said the padyatra team no. 5 would cover Allahabad and Mirzapur divisions, comprising seven districts.
Team number one will cover seven districts of Saharanpur and Meerut divisions. Team number 2 will cover eight districts in Moradabad and Bareilly.
Similarly, team number 3 will cover 13 districts in Agra and Kanpur divisions, team number 4 will pass through seven districts of Chitrakoot and Jhansi division.
Jamal said team number 6 will cover six districts in Varanasi and Azamgarh division; team number 7 will cover 10 districts in Faizabad and Lucknow divisions. He further said team number 8 will cover 10 districts of Gorakhpur, Basti and Devipatan divisions.
Jamal said a meeting of all district presidents of Gorakhpur, Basti and Devi Patan would be held at Gorakhpur on February 10.
A detailed programme of the yatras would be chalked out in the meeting.
He further said former MLC Rajesh Pandey, former minister Vinay Kumar Pandey and Khalid Bin Afzal were nominated as assistant coordinators of the padyatra team number 8.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, after a gap of 14 years, Congress candidates were in a direct contest with the BJP for two seats in the division, he added.
The party’s renewed unity had helped it win the Maharajganj Parliamentary seat in Gorakhpur division and Dumriaganj Parliamentary seat in Basti division.
