Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, Congress MP from Varanasi, Dr Rajesh Mishra said the ongoing land acquisition spree of state government in the name of setting up of Hi-Tech City would push a number of farmers on the verge of starvation.
He said he would strongly raise this issue in Winter Session of Parliament. “I would also demand imposition of President's Rule in Uttar Pradesh to ensure free and fair assembly elections in the State, he said. The MP called upon a comprehensive work-plan for development of Varanasi. He urged the newly elected Mayor and corporators to get the problems of their respected areas addressed as early as possible.
