Cong unhappy with curfew on day of meet

The Congress has expressed displeasure over the J&K government’s move to impose curfew in Srinagar on the day of the all-party delegation. A senior leader said there was no justification to curfew on Monday as no untoward incident had occurred on the day in any part of Kashmir.

The all-powerful Congress Core Group in its last meeting too had opposed any move to prolong the curfew, fearing an angry reaction from the residents.

CM Omar Abdullah has come under criticism for the crisis. “Omar is unable to connect with the people...” another Congress leader said.The party will now wait for the all-party delegation to return from the state and give its feedback before taking any decision on Omar’s fate.
