“Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s announcement is impudent. The Congress will complain about it to the Election Commission. The regime hoodwinked peasants by the untrue announcement that resulted from apprehension following cultivators’ indignation and its possible effect on the Budhni by-poll,” she said in a statement made here on Monday.

Alleging that the Bharatiy Janata Party (BJP) Government actually reduced power subsidy by about Rs 600 crore over the past year, Jamuna Devi added that if the regime was really a well-wisher of the farmers it would repeal the cut.
