CONGRESS ACTIVISTS staged a demonstration at the Townhall crossing and blamed the Samajwadi Party Government for suspension of all projects started under the Congress regime.

They handed over a five-point memorandum to be forwarded to the Governor.

Congress leaders said blackmarketing of kerosene had posed problems for the poor. They said kerosene oil was available in the black market at Rs 32 per litre.

They also expressed concern over a nexus between district officials and the land mafia who were grabbing land by force at various places.

Expressing his views on the occasion, former city unit secretary Dilip Kumar Pandey claimed that employees of the supply department were
asking for money to issue ration cards.

He said the Samajwadi Party government was least concerned about the welfare of people.

State Congress Committee members Ahmad Faraz and Ajay Kumar Singh expressed concern over prolonged power rostering at the time of examination and demanded that the State Government ensure uninterrupted power supply in the evening.
