The study incorporated in the latest master plan shows nearly 75% of the travel demand are for a distance of less than 3 km. Only about 4.6% are for a distance of more than 10 km.

The plan suggests traffic management programmes encompassing traffic segregation strategies, provisions for cycle tracks/paths, parking control, pavements, signages, enforcement and intersection control.

More than 91% trips are made for work, education and shopping purposes. The plan says there is a need to formulate an appropriate parking policy, which could incorporate strategies and programmes for on-street and off-street parking, parking norms/standards, pricing and management.

“Noida attracts considerable number of office employees. Since office space has become increasingly scarce in Delhi, many businessmen, who reside in Delhi, are setting-up offices in Noida. In the next stage, it is expected that the businessmen themselves will shift to Noida,” the plan reads.
