SSP yet to go on Operation Talaash
HOW SERIOUSLY do the policemen take the SSP’s orders was witnessed with an FIR lodged with the Mahanagar police station on Wednesday night.
A constable Gorakhnath Yadav alias Aakash Yadav lured daughter of a sub-inspector (S-I) and the latter was running from pillar to post to get the girl back home.
Despite knowing about the place where the girl is detained the cops have yet to initiate an effort to recover her.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) GK Goswami had launched ‘Operation: Talaash’ about one-and-a-half month back. In-charge of all the police stations were issued directives to ensure searching those girls who are reported eloped.
Goswami had then claimed that his effort was to hand over the minor girls to their families and help others in marrying the same person with whom they had eloped.
While the cops had yet to initiate effort, a constable Gorakhnath posted with Reserve Police Lines and serving with an escort vehicle attached with a VIP, ran away with S-I Ram Vishal Sharma’s daughter.
Sharma, a resident of Police Radio Colony, Mahanagar, lodged an FIR with the local station stating that Yadav has detained Sharma’s daughter since August 14. The complainant alleged that he had gone to Yadav and had requested to let his daughter go with him.

{{/usCountry}}But, Yadav allegedly issued life threats to Sharma and shooed him away from the place.
How concerned are the policemen about the SSP’s ‘Operation Talaash’ could be gauged from the fact that the SHO was unaware about the details of the case.
When enquired by HT Lucknow Live as to where the erring constable was posted, the SHO feigned ignorance. When asked about the complainant the SHO again said that he was unaware.
Despite knowing about the place where the girl is detained the police did not conduct any raid to rescue her.
