This fact was revealed by the main accused of the case, who was arrested by the Special Operation Group (SOG) team on Friday. SPRA Ram Bharose said that a case would be lodged against the constable. He admitted that the police had raided his house but he was absconding.

Acting on a tip-off, the SOG arrested Siyaram Singh, an accused in the loot case at Shahi Market and recovered Rs 1 lakh from his possession. The police also recovered a looted motorcycle and a handmade pistol from him. According to police, during interrogation Siyaram confessed his crime and accepted that he was involved in the loot.

It is a major success for the police as the accused Siyaram Singh has confessed his involvement in four other loot cases, including the loot of Rs 55,000 near Sahjuwa village under Peepiganj police station two week ago. Earlier, he had also looted Rs 30,000 from a salesman of Agrowat Company under Gorakhnath police station. Siyaram also looted Rs 50,000 at Gagha crossing under Campierganj police station two years ago.
