A CONSTABLE of Local Intelligence Unit was caught while accepting bribe by sleuths of anti-corruption wing, in Chaubeypur area on Thursday evening. The team was led by DSP Nand Lal Yadav .

The accused, Gopal Mani Tripathi, was accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from an unemployed youth. Tripathi, on Friday, was sent to 14-day judicial custody.
The constable was posing himself as an inspector of intelligence department and brother of chairman of the Karnataka Railway Recruitment Board. He was engaged in duping unemployed youths in the name of providing them jobs of peons in railway department. The arrested constable was posted in local office of LIU.
An unemployed youth Bharat Pal, resident of Bhagwanpur village under the Chaubeypur police station got in touch with the constable. The constable posing him to be an inspector of the intelligence department, assured the youth to provide him a job of peon in railway if he gave him a bribe of Rs 5000.
Sensing some foul play, Amarpal, father of Bharat Pal reached the office of anti-corruption bureau and informed the DSP Yadav about the corrupt intention of constable.
