Police on monday searched for Rohit at his residence at Taleigao in Panaji but could not find him there.

Monserratte said the police had come searching for Rohit. "They had come. I told them that I will hand him over to the police soon," Monserratte told PTI.

Police sources said the hunt was launched and fresh summons issued to Rohit after he failed to appear at Calancute police station today.

Rohit, along with Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao's nephew Warren, has been accused by the German girl's mother of raping her 14-year-old daughter.

The medical examination conducted on the girl has confirmed the rape.

She has also deposed before a judicial magistrate Mapusa in connection with the case.

Superintendent of Police (North) Vasco George declined to speak on the issue stating that whatever he wants to say he will do it in the High Court.
