DREADED DACOIT Salim Gujjar was given poison by his nephew Chhota Pandit, on the assurance of Bhind police to give him the reins of the gang once Salim was eliminated.
Highly placed sources in the police department said that Chhota Pandit along with one Manoj gave sweets laced with poison to Salim. Manoj was earlier in the Salim gang and after the poisoning incident joined another gang led by one Peeri Jatav.
According to Manoj, Peeri Jatav gang has 7-8 members and is planning to execute a major crime in the area. The police recently arrested Manoj, who made these startling revelations before the police.
The sweet was offered to Salim at Niyamatpur village under Ajitmal police station in Auraiyya district. A celebration party was organised by Chhota Pandit and Manoj to make a giant leap forward in reviving and consolidating the gang to confront Jagjeevan Parihar, who has been enjoying tacit support of his caste people.

{{/usCountry}}Sources said following the incident of poisoning Salim’s strength has drastically come down and he is getting refuge at remote villages of Auraiyya. However, the police have failed to get any concrete information about Salim or Chhota Pandit from Manoj.
Meanwhile, though the police have been combing the ravines and forest areas in Auraiyya district for over a fortnight, they have not got any clue about Salim, who was reportedly treated at a private hospital and escaped after recuperating.
