All three are students of different schools in the State capital. Police said Akhilesh Tiwari, 19, a student of Class XII in Nalanda Public School, Ashish Tiwari, 18, a student of St Stephen Higher Secondary School Panchsheel Nagar and Satish Thakur, 19, a student of Class X in the Theosophical Public School were arrested.

They were caught for snatching a cell phone from Anil Sonwane, an engineer with a private company on December 27. Sonwane was talking on his cell phone while ambling outside his Second Stop house when the three motorcycle-borne youths snatched the phone and escaped.

On the basis of an informer’s tip-off that all the youths lived in Tulsi Nagar and Panchsheel Nagar, police conducted an inquiry and zeroed in on the three teenagers who confessed to the loot during interrogation. They told the police they snatched the phone just for fun.
