SDM S S Rathore, who was entrusted with the inquiry, is learnt to have discovered that Shrivastava’s name appeared on electoral rolls at Maruti Nagar in addition to her residence at CW 121, Janata quarters, Sukhlia, revealed district administration sources.

The inquiry report is learnt to have been forwarded to Collector Vivek Aggarwal who, in turn, will pass it on to Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das for action. The MP Municipal Corporation Act, 1956, vests the Divisional Commissioner with the power to disqualify a corporator found guilty of using unfair means to gain an electoral edge.

The inquiry was launched after a complaint against the multiple voter list entries was lodged with deputy district Election Officer Kaushal Bansal.
