The report has called for legal proceedings and corruption charges against Swarup for misappropriation of funds and irregularities to the tune of Rs 50 crore, in his capacity as the Cultural Affairs Secretary and MD of Film City.

The charges against Swarup include causing loss to the Maharashtra Film Drama and Cultural Development Corporation worth Rs 28.20 crore by selling land at cheap rates to benefit Mukta Arts, a private entertainment company.

The report by 25 legislators and read out by legislator Nana Patoale called for a CID report against Swarup.

Swarup retired in August without any action against him despite a state enquiry that found him guilty. The DF government had given assurance to the State Legislature that action would be taken against him in the last session.
