Costa Rica is a small country, which will come to the World Cup with big dreams - of going as far as they can in Germany. This is in fact the third time that they have qualified for the mega event.

Their road to Germany was not smooth though. They struggled to play consistently in the qualifiers against Mexico, USA and Trinidad & Tobago. But managed to win the automatic berth, registering some very important wins in the second legs.

Costa Rica's players are not exactly known at the world stage. But in Paulo Wanchope, the team has one inspirational player.

Paula has already announced that he would be retiring after the World Cup. He would obviously want to go out with a fine performance.

Costa Rica are in Group A with hosts and three-time World Champions Germany, Poland and Ecuador. They have to produce their very attacking form if they wish to enter the knockout stage.
