An old couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in their house in Bharwari township area in the district, around 60 kms from Allahabad, police said on Friday.

Police said the bodies of Keshav Prasad Kesarvani (75) and his wife (70) were found hanging in the house by their younger son this morning.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, they said, adding the reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
