A special CBI court in Mumbai on Tuesday directed a Magistrate in Pune to record the confession statement of Abdul Karim Telgi on February 4.

Telgi, the alleged kingpin of fake stamp-papers scam, had earlier expressed a desire to confess through video conferencing from Pune's Yerawada jail, where he is lodged.

The special CBI judge UD Salvi has directed the judicial Magistrate First Class in Pune to record Telgi's confessional statement after other accused in the case said that they had no objection to the same.
