This was for the first time that the hearing took place inside the Central Jail, possibly to ensure security of the accused who was earlier attacked inside the court premises by an irate mob.

The special judge (EP Act) Narinder Singh Rawal while hearing the case fixed November 30 as the next date for hearing the charges framed against the accused in the blasts case.

Sources said Walliullah’s lawyer Devbrat, who was appointed by the court to hear the alleged accused case, sought more time for examining the case.

It may be mentioned that three cases are registered against Walliullah and charges in all the cases will be argued on November 30. Walliullah, it is noteworthy to mention, is accused in the March 7 twin blasts at Sankatmochan Temple and the Railway station where at least 17 persons were killed and over a hundred injured.

“The hearing did take place inside the office of Central Jail”, Senior Superintendent Central Jail Varanasi said, adding, “This was possibly for the first time in Varanasi Central Jail that the case was heard inside the court.”
