The World Spa Apartment Owners Association (TWSAOA) has been collecting maintenance fee since December 1 after the residents stopped paying the charge to the developer's agency Unitech Property Management Pvt Ltd (UPM), for failing to proved facilities promised to them at the time of booking of flats.

The realtor had challenged the resident body's move in the court and sought an interim stay over the action. Civil judge SC Kant, who heard the case on Wednesday, on February 23 had however refused the interim relief to Unitech.

The residents, who include corporate honchos and senior government officials, claim that the UPM was doing "shoddy" work. Besides, as per the agreement, the maintenance works should have been handed over to the TWSAOA in May, 2010 itself. On Sunday the residents' body expelled UPM and roped in another agency for maintenance of the complex.
