"We welcome the decision of the Central government regarding pulling out of 30,000 troops from Jammu and Kashmir. However the measure is quite inadequate," CPI(M) state secretary M Y Tarigami said in a statement in Srinagar.
The is no justification for keeping the AFSPA operative in the state anymore.
This should be revoked without any further delay, Tarigami said. He said to improve security situation in the state, there should be "drastic reduction" in the deployment of troops which "will help in addressing the grievance of the people regarding inconvenience faced by them".
