CPI(M) welcomes Singh's decision on privatisation

CPI(M) welcomed PM-designate Manmohan Singh's statement that there would be no privatisation of ONGC, GAIL and banks.

CPI(M) on Thursday welcomed Prime Minister designate Manmohan Singh's statement that there would be no privatisation of ONGC, GAIL and banks and said there was no pressure from Left parties for such a decision.

"We welcome the statement of Singh... There was no pressure from Left. We also want public good and a strong nation," party spokesperson and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said.

Yechury was responding to a question whether the statement had been made in response to Left parties' demand.
