CPI releases list of candidates

The names of candidates for 10 seats were decided at the party's administrative committee meeting.

CPI, a constituent of the Democratic Progressive Alliance, on Thursday released its list of candidates for the May 8 Tamil Nadu assembly polls.

Only two -- Y Sivapuniyam and S Rajendran -- out of the party's five sitting MLAs -- figure in the list.

The names of the candidates for the 10 seats that it would contest was decided at the party's administrative committee meeting on Thursday morning in Tiruchirapalli, CPI state secretary D Pandian said.
