'CPI won't get any seats'

Congress' V Ravi lambasted CPI leader AB Bardhan for his comments against AK Antony and said CPI won't get any seats in Kerala.

Congress leader Vayalar Ravi on Thursday lambasted CPI National General Secretary AB Bardhan for his comments against Chief Minsiter AK Antony and said CPI will not get even a single seat from Kerala and Congress will not require its support.

Taking strong objections to Bardhan's reported remarks that Antony was a 'black sheep' and that he should not be part of the secular democratic formation, the AICC General Secretary asked "how can Bardhan decide who should be in the new formation? He can do nothing to the Congress," an angry Ravi said.

Bhardan had yesterday told reporters at Thiruvananthapuram that 'Antony had succumbed to BJP and People like him would be a liability and are unwelcome to the Secular Democratic Formation'.

Asked if the left parties would be given cabinet berths in the event of a Congress-led government coming to power, he said it depends whether the left parties would join the Congress coalition.

Replying to a query on the marxist leadership in the state, he said they need to change their anti-Congress stance.
