Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury said on Thursday that the matter would be taken up with the Centre at the earliest.

Yechury said, "It is a case of selective leak of information, which is to be submitted to the High Court. I have asked Buddhababu.

He said the report has not been submitted to the court." He added that the matter is sub-judice and it is wrong to preempt anything. The CBI report has apparently pointed out how CPM cadres were allegedly threatening witnesses to the March 14 violence, in which 14 persons were shot dead, and how some of them were also part of police party that attacked protesters. Meanwhile, the three-day CPM central committee (CC) meet began on Thursday.

The CC is also likely to discuss the Nandigram issue with the Bengal government expected to brief the members on the sequence of events that led to the re-capture of the area in early November.
