These two kinds of children, one studying at Mothercare School and the other children of construction labourers, met on Friday at the play school. Mothercare, along with an NGO, organised a meeting on the theme ‘Creating happiness by sharing’ for these haves and have-nots.

Mothercare student Shivangi said, “My new friends are so nice. I have even invited them to my birthday.” On the other hand, Alok, who was Shivangi’s guest, says, “These children gave me a Munch chocolate and also taught me a poem.”

It was a touching scene when some children emptied their tiffin boxes for their new friends. Mothercare principal Samana Misra told HT Lucknow Live, “In today’s interaction, children learnt how to care and share for each other. The programme has broken the barrier that usually exists between two social classes. The session has taught them an important lesson of life.”

Chandrabhushan Tewari, educates these underprivileged children at his NGO says, “It is like ‘Krishna-Sudaama milan’. The children were so excited to meet each other. In the beginning, they were hesitant but soon fun began to flow.”

The privileged students had brought loads of toys, old clothes and other things to give away to the less fortunate. They parted with a promise to meet again.
