Jacob Martin, former captain of Baroda Ranji cricket team, joined the Congress in Vadodara on Tuesday.
Siddharth Patel, former president, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, was present on this occasion.
Talking to reporters afterwards, Martin said, "I want to start playing another innings by joining the Congress party and serving the community. I liked the ideology of the party, so I joined it."
