In what areas is crime looking up?
Like any other flourishing city, Gurgaon, too, is witnessing increased number of vehicle theft, cyber crimes and economic offences. Most of the cyber crime cases are against insiders who either sell or use unauthorisedly the proprietary data owned by the employers.
Why is vehicle theft on the rise here?
In addition to the high increase in the number of private vehicles, the city also lacks authorized parking lots. Since Gurgaon doesn’t have a public transport system, more people use private cars. They are forced to park their cars in unauthorized parking lots as commercial or office complexes do not allow them to park inside. These vehicles become easy targets.

Yes, we are understaffed and ill-equipped. But we are expecting a fresh intake of police personnel and also the paraphernalia in terms of gadgets before the Commonwealth Games.
