Doga, 35, who was lodged in Gurgaon's Bondsi jail, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of his leg. He managed to dodge the police and escaped from outside the X-ray room with his accomplice on a motorcycle.

The Rohtak police had, in April, arrested Doga of Baliyana village of the district during an encounter operation from the district's Kharawar village. Doga, a parole jumper, is booked in 13 criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act violations and dacoity.

A complaint was registered at the PGIMS medical police post, while the Gurgaon and Rohtak police have launched a search operation to arrest him.

Superintendent of police (SP) Rajesh Duggal said a case has been registered against policemen on duty on a charge of negligence in duty.
