A criminal wanted in 25 cases of loot, dacoity and abduction was on Monday killed in an encounter with the police in Jaipur while his accomplice escaped.

Acting on a tip off, a police party intercepted a bus in which Dara Singh alias Dhariya, 30, and an accomplice were travelling at around 7 am in Rajendra Nagar area, Suprintendent of Police (special operation group) Punnuchammy said.
However, the duo tried to escape and opened fire on a police jeep, the SP said.
Singh was shot dead in the exchange of fire, he said, adding the body was sent for postmortem at the Sawai Man Singh hospital.
A manhunt was on for Singh's accomplice who escaped during the encounter, he said.
Singh hailed from Churu in Rajasthan, the SP said and denied that the accused was involved in criminal activities in Bihar.
