A MAJORITY of the departments headed by senior officers are not sending their Cabinet precise properly. And, in some cases Cabinet precis were presented even before getting required administrative approval of the departmental minister.
Taking note of this gaffe, Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni has directed senior officers to keep the business rules in mind while sending precis of their departments and also ensure that the documents are verified before sending for the Cabinet meetings.
He has written letter to all Principal Secretaries and Secretaries. Interestingly, sending precis in wrong format is not confined to Cabinet meetings only. For important meetings of Cabinet Committee of Political and Economic Affairs too, such goof-ups have been detected.
The Chief Secretary not only highlighted the mistakes regularly being committed by various departments but also ‘enlightened’ senior officers about the correct ways of sending Cabinet precis.
