Singh inspected one of the two City buses that have arrived thus far and held an informal meeting with top City officials at Residency Kothi. He said that public transport was not only a need of the times, but a necessity for any growing city.

Hoping for the success of the project and replication of the same in all major cities of the State, he instructed District Collector Vivek Agrawal to invite collectors of Jabalpur, Gwalior and Bhopal on a study tour for the same. He also instructed that the bus be moved to the airport where CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was to arrive at eight pm could inspect them.

Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das, IG Shailendra Shrivastava, DIG Pramod S Phalnikar, SP Adarsh Katiyar, ADM Manish Singh and others were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary was expected to arrive at 1.30 pm, later information was received that he would get late in the programmes at Ujjain with the CM and would arrive at 2 pm. However, further intimation was received that he would arrive at 4 pm as the State plane in which he was to arrive from Ujjain had gone to pick up State BJP organisational general secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki and had got delayed there.

Singh arrived at 4.10 pm and stayed only for half an hour at the Residency Kothi, spending most of his time inspecting the bus and interacting with the officials. He then went directly to Mhow to attend a function at Dr B R Ambedkar Research Institute. His proposed visit to the IT and Apparel park had to be cancelled as most of his time was consumed in Ujjain. He later left with the CM by the State plane for Bhopal.
