CHIEF SECRETARY Navin Chandra Vajpayee made spot inspection of the DDU Gorakhpur University ground, the venue of the proposed programme of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on September 22.

This was the first instance when a chief secretary inspected the venue of the chief minister’s programme before his arrival.

He was not satisfied with the size of enclosure erected on the spot and directed the subordinate officials to install a close circuit TV near the stage.

Vajpayee arrived here by helicopter on Wednesday and minutely observed the ongoing preparation for the programme of the chief minister. He discussed various points with district magistrate Dr Hariom and directed him to ensure the CM was protected from direct sunlight.

He also inquired who would coordinate the programme and directed the officials to replace the bamboos used for barricading with wooden and steel pipes.

Chandra directed subordinate officials to provide breakfast and lunch packets to all beneficiaries under unemployment allowances and Kanya Vidya Dhan Scheme.
The CM will distribute unemployment allowances among 28033 registered unemployed youths in Gorakhpur division. Within 25 minutes he will distribute the cheques to the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, unprecedented security arrangements have been made for the day and no entry will be possible without proper entry pass. The beneficiaries have to cover a distance of 100 yards to get lunch packets.
