THE LOVEBIRDS were targeted at several places on the V-Day. The young boys and girls had to face the wrath of Shiv Sainiks, Hindu Jagran Manch, VHP, Bajrang Dal and other organizations for celebrating a foreign festival.
The youngsters were chased away from the Archie’s Gallery, Tulsi Theatre, Shaheed Smarak, Cappuchino Blast, Ambedkar Udyan, Lohia Park, Café Coffee Day and other places by the activists of these right wing organizations. Some cards were burnt by rowdy elements at Hazratganj at which police on duty intervened and controlled the situation immediately.
Some youngsters alleged misbehaviour by the activists performing morale policing on the day. The lovebirds played hide and seek all over the city with these activists.
According to Shiv Sena State office incharge, Ajay Katiyar 13 teams were on the prowl for the lovebirds celebrating the festival of V-Day, which legalises vulgarity and gives rise to the bad emotions of a human being.
Katiyar said, “this time Sainiks were directed not to misbehave with the couples. Instead of harassing anyone they were directed to click their photographs and send them to their parents.”
“We have clicked nearly 150 snaps, but the couples started pleading their cases. So we left most of them with a stern warning. But, some confronted us naturally they had to face the music. They were forced to leave public places after their public apology,” said Satish Singh who led a team of Shiv Sena activists in the city.

Some shopkeepers in Hazratganj chose to down their shutters instead of facing the wrath of these activists. Lovebirds were stopped and made to stand with their hands on ears, some were made to perform sit-ups in some of these places. A few couples were seen crying profusely due to the fear of being exposed in front of their family in front of Café Coffee Day.
At Lucknow Zoological Gardens, rowdy elements forcibly entered the zoo and created a ruckus. They passed lewd remarks at the visitors, especially the young girls. Sources in the zoo said that they did not even spare married couples who came there along with the kids. Zoo director Eva Sharma said that she has lodged an unnamed complaint with the police in this connection.
Depali (name changed) who went to a restaurant was mistaken by the Sainiks. They clicked her with some boys sitting on next table whom she never knew.
