The crime branch officials said that they needed Meiyappan’s custody as he was in regular touch with Vikram Aggarwal alias Victor, the owner of Raddison Blu Hotel in Chennai. The crime branch wants to confront Meiyappan with Aggarwal because Aggarwal was in touch with a lot of bookies.

Also, the crime branch said that it had recorded conversations of Meiyappan where he has talked with people in code language, and that the agency would require Meiyappan’s custody to decipher the code language.

The crime branch had earlier alleged that Meiyappan had placed huge bets and was in constant touch with bollywood actor Virendra Dara Singh Randhava alias Vindoo, arrested for betting, and also used to pass on the detail of team strategy to them.
