In an early Monday morning brawl in Gurgaon, a group of about 15 partying young men and women were allegedly assaulted by bouncers and other staff of a pub in DLF City Centre Mall on MG Road.
Aged between 25 and 35, the group was reportedly celebrating the birthday of one of them. They alleged that one of the staff members of the pub misbehaved with the girls and later thrashed them, including the girls, outside the pub.
The police have locked the pub and arrested two staff members.
A criminal case has also been registered against six persons, including the bouncers and the assistant manager of the pub.
Adrin Pillai, a resident of Princeton Estate, DLF City, was celebrating his birthday with his friends at Buzz.
Pillai, who works for an advertising agency, said around 1.00 a.m. one of the waiters at the pub approached their table.
“He spoke very rudely with one of the girls and also misbehaved with her. I objected to it but the other pub staffers joined the first one and misbehaved with us. Then they told us to get out of the pub,” Pillai said.
“They called the bouncer and pushed me. All my friends got up and walked out of the pub leaving one to settle the bills. Outside the pub, the bouncers started hurling lewd remarks on our female friends and this ignited an altercation.”
He alleged the bouncers were later joined by the bartenders and other staff of the pub started assaulting them, including the girls.
“The bouncers slapped one girl while another was manhandled. I got eight stitches on my face while two of my friends, Vikram Dhariwal and Rohan Bhare, were bleeding from their nose,” Pillai added.
