Cuttack DCP, A L Sinha said the voters have been turning up in large numbers in some of the booths while defects in Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were reported in a few booths.

However, the district administration immediately replaced faulty machines, official sources said.

Elaborate security arrangements were made to ensure smooth and peaceful polls and no untoward incident was reported from any place, they said.
