In the note her name was given as Vaishnavi Joshi.

A paragraph reads: “Muje paida nahi karna chahiye jab mein paal nahi sakta. Lekin mein two years key baad wapas aoonga (I should not have sired the baby because I cannot rear her. But I will return after two years).”

The note also said the infant was not vaccinated.

The women’s police station took custody of the infant and rushed her to the district hospital. “She had some infection and jaundice when she was brought, but now she is stable,” Dr Mahima Sharma said.

Hotel employees told the police that two young persons had come to the hotel on April 29. One said his name was Abhishek Verma. They said they were from Bhopal and had an interview in Dewas-based Tata Export Company.

“They probably brought the baby in a bag they were carrying. They checked out of the hotel on April 30 at around 6 am, leaving the newborn behind,” Additional SP Tilak Singh said.
