The actor's latest film Fanaa has been banned from screening in Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Aamir said that by apologising, he would be letting down all those people who are losing their houses and land to the mega-dam and whose voices he had aired by demanding proper rehabilitation.

"I want to tell the people of Gujarat that I have lots of love for them ... In fact, the people should join me in taking up the cause of thousands of people who are losing homes and lands due to the (Sardar Sarovar) Dam."
