Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), comprising Nagaland People's Front (NPF), BJP, Janata Dal(United) and Samata Party, is all set to stake claim for forming the next ministry in the state seeking the support of independents.
NPF Secretary General Chubatemjan told PTI on Sunday evening that the alliance, which had already issued a common minimum programme (CMP) as pre-poll understanding though it had failed to arrive at any seat adjustment due to "local factors," would soon stake claim for forming the government enlisting the support of independents.
The NPF-BJP-Samata-JD(U) combine had already clinched 29 seats out of 58 results declared and was confident of winning the remaining two seats after tomorrow's re-polling, he said.
"We are sure to win the remaining two seats and all anti-Congress forces and individuals are most welcome to join DAN for forming the next government," he said, adding the alliance would definitely seek support of independents.
However, NDM, which won four seats, would not be asked to join the conglomeration, Chubatemjan said.
Out of the results for 58 seats declared so far, Congress bagged 21, NPF 19, BJP 7, Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) 4, Samata Party 1, JD(U) 2 and Independents 4.

"The just concluded assembly poll was a clear verdict of the Naga people against the misrule of the S C Jamir-led Congress government during the past 10 years," Alliance sources claimed.
