Unable to bear her father's repeated sexual assaults, a 16-year-old girl in Jharkhand killed him by slitting his throat and putting dry chillies on the wound.
Police said Shivanath Vishwakarma, a railway employee at Jharia in Dhanbad, 270 km from here, had been raping his daughter for a long time but when he tried to force himself on her Friday night in a drunken state, the girl took a sharp weapon and slit his throat.

The girl and her mother were arrested.
"My father was raping me for a long time. I kept quiet to save the family honour but it was difficult to bear it any further," she told police.
The girl's mother said whenever she tried to protect her daughter she was also beaten up by her husband.
