Employee leaders including current general secretary Rakesh Yadav, Joint Secretary Jitendra Nayak, P K Nakaswal, B D Kushgotia and Santosh Raghuvanshi led the dissatisfied lot of daily-wager muster employees. They approached Tiwari and showed him a State Government letter quoting Supreme Court (SC) ruling giving directives to all department heads concerned to regularise all employees having served upwards of 10 years.

Tiwari said that as the university comes under the Higher Education Department it would take action only when an order was directly received from the said department. This reply infuriated the employees who had a heated altercation with him and accused him of laxity.

The employees then stormed the cabin of Dr Rajkamal and apprising him of their problem complained against Tiwari. The employees gave an ultimatum of half-an-hour to solve their problem and thus saying sat outside his office on a dharna.
