V-C Rajkamal said that he was recently informed about the case of a former Head of Department (HoD) BK Pasi who had not been cleared pension for the past six years. Furthermore, Pasi was suffering from paralysis. Rajkamal visited him at his residence and assured him all possible help.

Pasi, incidentally, is the recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award given by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The state of affairs of such a person moved the V-C who resolved to take personal initiative and measures for passing the blocked pension on humanitarian grounds before getting final approval from the Executive Committee (EC).

The matter was presented before the EC during their meeting held in the city on Thursday and as was expected the EC members unanimously passed the decision.

The accounts department had even stopped payment of monthly salary due from last two months to former V-C CS Chaddha.
