There is a coolness to the Bangalore air and a gentle warmth to the sun that makes watching cricket a pleasant exercise. No grime and sweat, it is the kind of weather that could induce lethargy in spectators and give players that added boost of energy.

Given the plight of the Indians on Thursday, Day Three’s script at the Chinnaswamy Stadium seemed to have been written even before the first ball was bowled. Despite expectations being low, people flocked to the stadium in droves.

To be fair to the Indians, they didn't disappoint their fans, even though they are so far behind in this match, that it would have required a miracle from the tail-enders to make a fight of a lost cause. It will still require a Herculean effort in the second innings from the top order to save this Test.

Slim chance, yet India have achieved so much against Australia in the recent past, that to lose hope completely would be premature.
