The First Additional District Sessions Judge (ADJ), N N Singh, who had concluded the hearing and reserved judgement in the case, on Thursday sent a letter to District and Sessions Judge, Sanjay Prasad, requesting him to transfer the case from his court to any other court "due to some reasons".

Court officials said on Friday in Giridih that a court order for transfer of the case from Singh's court to ADJ Mohammad Qasim's court has been released.

On April 3, First ADJ, N N Singh, had concluded hearing in the 36-year-old case and set April 17 as the date for delivering the verdict.

According to a senior advocate, the transfer could delay the verdict as the new court might hear the case afresh.

The chargesheet was filed in 1978.

Soren is the sole accused after eight other accused were acquitted in 1986.
