The maximum temperature in the national capital rose to near 26 degrees Celsius, as was the case in most places in the plains. A bright sky added to the feeling of warmth to the day.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was 9.8 degrees, normal for this time of the year.

The capital has been reeling under a severe cold wave for over a month with the seasons lowest recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius on January 2, while the lowest temperature this month was 2.9 degrees on February 2.

The Met office has forecast further rise in the minimum temperatures, signalling an official end to the winter.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 4.9 degrees Celsius recorded at Amritsar in Punjab.
