District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, S Jaipal Singh on Saturday constituted a drought assessment committee to assess the losses caused to the Kharif crops in the district due a poor rainfall.

The DDC directed the officers in a meeting to conduct a survey throughout the district and report in his office within a week time the extent of damage caused to the crops, an official release said in Jammu.
Additional Deputy Commissioner S Robin Mehta, Chief Horticulture officer and Officers of Agriculture and Revenue departments were also present in the meeting.
