In a fast-track trial, a Madhya Pradesh court has awarded death penalty to a youth accused of abducting, raping and murdering a minor tribal girl in Khandwa.

Monday’s judgement by special judge Jagdish Baheti came 14 days after the charge sheet was filed on February 19. The girl had gone missing from a village in Khandwa on January 30. The police recovered her body on February 1 and the post-mortem report confirmed rape. Five-days later, accused Anohkilal was arrested. htc
