“There is no question of action against Ghosh or Basu. Our chief minister has initiated an inquiry commission, apart from probe by the police and a special investigation team. Let the probe get over first and if anyone is found guilty, he or she will be punished,” said a party MP close to Banerjee.

An FIR has been lodged against Ghosh in the scam, which has led to three persons committing suicide.

Banerjee’s defence comes when the CBI has initiated the groundwork for the case.
