Le Mangii, as the name suggests, comes from the guys behind the restaurants, Mangii Ferra and Café Mangii. The three eateries share most of their menus too, but welcome additions to Le Mangii are a range of breakfast options and a bar that caters to those seated indoors as well as outdoors. Although at first sight, the bar looks understocked, the menu offers an impressive selection of wines, cocktails and mocktails. We ordered the Guava Blossom Iced Tea (Rs 200), which wins our vote for the real pulp that was used to make the drink. Just enough tea was infused, making it perfect. The quantity is generous too.
We started with one of their signature thin-crust pizzas, Milano (Rs 560), straight out of the live wood-fired oven. It promised wilted spinach, roasted mushrooms and American corn on the paper-thin base. But when the pizza reached us, it only had a measly smattering of the toppings. It did taste good, though.
The Seafood Risotto (Rs 445) arrived next. We’d have loved bigger, juicier prawns and slightly tangier jus. Up next, the Char-grilled Chicken (Rs 495) was delicious — well-cooked and served with crunchy and well-seasoned veggies. We could have done with a bit more of the delicious red wine, though. The only disappointment was the nut-meg flavoured potato mash, in which, try as hard as we could, we couldn’t detect any hint of the flavour.

{{/usCountry}}The meal ended with a yummy Crème Brûlée (Rs 245),the portion of which was large enough for two. The custard was creamy and consistent and the burnt caramel was perfectly crunchy. This is one item on the menu we know we will order the next time we’re here.
The all-day diner has peppy music and a breakfast menu that would appeal to many.
The venue could double up as a chilled out bar at night too. Although a tad expensive, we’d be happy to go back once in a while.
